Vanguard- Sentinel Career & Technology Centers are excited about their new Drug Free Clubs of America initiative being implemented for the 2017-2018 school year.  This is a National Program, being implemented locally based on the success of the program that rewards drug free students for their healthy choices.  The program also provides powerful tools to protect members in the face of peer pressure.

Drug Free Clubs of America works because it is simple.  Students pass a voluntary drug test and receive a photo ID “Club Card”, recognizing them as members.  These cards can be shown at school and in the community to receive rewards for choosing to stay drug free!  We will be offering positive reinforcements that CELEBRATE drug free decisions and MOTIVATE members to stay on the right track.  Will you help us accomplish this?

We are looking for the support of the local community to offer an incentive of your choice that will reward a student for their commitment to being drug free.  Random re-testing of members occurs throughout the school year and members only keep their privileges as long as they test drug free at any given time.  “Club Cards” include both an expiration date and a photograph to help business verify participation in the program.

The district feels strongly about the need for this initiative and is covering the majority of the cost of membership to this club, and thanks to a partnership with Mercy Health who has agreed to help with the drug testing, the cost is minimal to the student.  Community rewards are a critical element of the program, so in order to make it successful we need your help in providing the incentives and rewards that not only reinforce positive behavior, but also show our students the business community is vested in the next generation and values a drug free lifestyle.

Please consider being a supporter of this new initiative.  You can participate in many different ways, including offering a reward or providing financial support.  Please see the attached information for more information and to sign up today.  You have the power to make a REAL difference by participating!
