The Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Services is sponsoring writing contest. The contest is now open to all ages, from kindergarten to twelve grade. The deadline for entries has been extended to Tuesday, February 28, 2017.   The participant must live in Seneca County or the event must have taken place in Seneca County.  The theme is a happy Christmas memory.

The essay is limited to 2 typed pages or 4 pages if hand written and age appropriate grammar is expected.  Students that have not learned to write yet, may tell their story to another person.  Stories do not have to be typed, but they must be legible.  All stories must be original work and the name must be on each page.   Entries may be dropped off at the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library or the Chamber office during regular office hours.

Parents/Guardians will have to sign a waiver when the essay is submitted.

The waiver will say:  By signing below, I/we grant the Seneca County Regional Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Services and the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library a royalty-free perpetual license to use, reproduce, post, display, create derivative works, sell, license, or sub-license my submission in any media now known or later invented, including social media Internet sites such as Facebook, without limitation for commercial or non-commercial purposes. Additionally, I/we attest that this an original story, that I/we have not violated the copyright of any other person, organization, or business, and that, as the author or author's parent or legal guardian, I/we have the right to grant such a license.

One essay will be chosen to be read by the author at the 2017 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
