The Official Small Business Saturday is November 25, 2017.  It is also the day that Ohio State plays the Michigan Wolverines.  Last year many people complained about this, since we cannot change the day of the big game; we are proposing something more proactive.  The Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Services is suggesting that Seneca County has their own Small Business Saturday on November 11, 2017.  We have attached a survey to get your input.

Here some ideas for you to consider:

  • This is also Veteran’s Day so let’s go red, white and blue.  Have some specials to say thank you to all Veterans and your customers.
  • Thanksgiving is a time when people should reflect on the good in their lives and be grateful.  You may want to have a drawing and ask them to list one thing that they are grateful for on the slip.
  • You could offer a discount on red, white or blue merchandise.  Or have a special offer for anyone wearing one of those colors.  You may want to have a sticker or small bow to help anyone is not wearing the color when they come in.
  • Offer some Thanksgiving specials and a peek at what will be available in the Christmas season.  You may want to give shoppers a coupon to bring them back after Thanksgiving.

Keep in mind that you may participate in Seneca County’ Small Business Saturday and the official one on November 25th.
