The deadline for entries has been extended to Tuesday, February 28, 2017. The participant must live in Seneca County or the event must have taken place in Seneca County. The theme is a happy Christmas memory.
The essay is limited to 2 typed pages or 4 pages if hand written and age appropriate grammar is expected. Students that have not learned to write yet, may tell their story to another person. Stories do not have to be typed, but they must be legible. All stories must be original work and the name must be on each page. It is time to gear up for the Holiday Seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Once Halloween is over, it is time to decorate for Thanksgiving. Yes, it does say Thanksgiving. Take time to enjoy our fall season with this holiday that reminds us that we have a lot to be thankful for. Your customers will appreciate the fact that you are not rushing to push the commercial part of Christmas down their throats.
Of course, for some decorating for Christmas on November 25th is not practical, then go ahead and decorate on November 23rd. Be closed on November 24th, enjoy Thanksgiving with your family and allow your employees to do the same.
There will be time to exchange ideas and tips on all the topics discussed.
American Express launched Small Business Saturday in 2010 to encourage individuals nationwide to support small local businesses. Last year, 95 million people went out to shop at small businesses.
Small Business Saturday is most successful in helping local retail businesses grow their revenues over this key weekend, when public/private coalitions of small business leaders have come together to provide coordination and leadership.
This year’s event is celebrated on Saturday, November 26.

Over 800 9th grade students from Seneca County schools will be at the showcase! The purpose of the event to is promote manufacturing as a career. Please visit the website to volunteer. You do not need to be working at a manufacturing facility to volunteer. It’s a wonderful opportunity to mingle with area businesses as well as our area youth.
We also have a few openings left for manufacturers to participate in the showcase. Please contact Carol Owen to participate as a manufacturer.
