Junior Achievement Recruitment

JA is looking for a few good men & women to provide JA educational programming to Krout elementary students (grades 2 & 3) on Friday, May 5 from 8am to 11am.

The delivery model will be JA in a Day, where the entire JA program (5 lessons) is covered between 8am and 11am. As with all JA programming, each module provides practical information about financial literacy, entrepreneurship and career development and its impact on students’ lives. As compared to other similar programs, JA is both modular and sequential. Each student can receive programming every year from K-12. A 1 hour training session, including JA curriculum will be provided to volunteers on Thursday, April 6 from 8am – 9am at Mercy Health Tiffin Hospital. Attached is a brief scope and sequence of all programs. ‘Our Community’ is recommended for Grade 2 while ‘Our City’ is recommended for grade 3. The curriculum can be presented either individually,  the buddy system or an entire grade can be adopted by an organization. In any case, the regular classroom instructor will be present at all times.

The W-2 scam first appeared last year. Cybercriminals tricked payroll and human resource officials into disclosing employee names, SSNs and income information. The thieves then attempted to file fraudulent tax returns for tax refunds.
